Ulduar Guild Run

Once again, our guild tackled the threats that lay within Ulduar. And once again, we fall short in the same spot we keep falling at.

We've actually gotten quite good at taking down Flame Leviathan, Razorscale, XT-002 Deconstructor and Kologarn. The past few times we did get Auriaya down, but we are still working on 'farming' her.

However, we still can't down Thorim. It's strange, because each week we try something different in the group layouts, and we still can't stay up for long periods of time.

This week, it was the Arena's team ((my team)) that couldn't stay up for that long. Previous weeks, we did quite well in staying up; but we DID have a new tank with us, so that could result in us still trying to get use to how that tank works.

Anyway, I'm not complaining really. There are still some things I want to puck up from the previous bosses that do drop, and doing them each week gives me hope in seeing them. I just have to wish they drop.

Guid Dramaz

Well, two main things happened today within the guild. The first one started early on today, before I left for work.

Like normal, I woke up with enough time to do my normal morning rituals ((show, eat, etc.)) and hop onto WoW to see what the dailies are and to get the first tricks-or-treats of the day. Well, while I was doing all that, one of the guild members whispered me and said that one of our officers was doing something strange at the Guild Vault ((GV)).

I didn't have the time to check it out, but when they mentioned who it was, I didn't bother because no one expected anything to happen from him / her.

Well, it would seem like I was wrong. After work, when I logged back on to start fishing for my Fish Feast recipes, I found that the member had stolen around 7k gold, and most of the items from the GV. One of the other officers had kicked her, and contacted a Game Master ((GM)) as soon as they could, and now we are within the wake of just figuring out what all happened and why.

The member in question never acted this way, and is quite out of character for him / her. Many of us are thinking that he / she was hacked, but there's no way to be sure on that really. We do know that the person, even after being kicked from the guild, was still on for most of they day; and there was no advancement from whispers or questions to him / her.

As for the other event, it happened while we were doing our Ulduar 10-man run. Someone who wasn't invited, but thought they were, had gotten a little mad about that. He had waited for the raid for a while only to find that he wasn't on the roster for tonight. In the end, he caused some problems with some of the other members, who eventually all left ((beyond the original person who caused this problem in the first place)). We eventually got things with him working out fine, but the people who left we weren't so lucky with.

Some of the people who left I won't shed a tear for; but some where people who contributed to the guild quite well, and I feel sorry to see them leave.

I guess that is just what happens when you have a guild like this. We've grown in size more quickly then I'd like, and it's hard to manage them all. I'd love to be able to take them all on raids each week, but I just physically can't do that.

I may have to find a way to make two or three different runs each week with two or three different members. That way, everyone gets a chance to raid some, and still get to know the members of the guild; which is what I want to eventually happen.

This will require some talking with the guild leader.

Internetz

Sometimes, I do hate being so dependent on the internet. Everything that I do now days requires the internet in some way or fashion; my job requires me to stay within eMail contact at all times, my pleasures ((WoW)) requires internet in order to play, even my studies require ((but not always)) the internet for quick and easy references.

But then days like today happen, in which the internet has been down since I woke up. It's now around 6PM EST, and the interwebs, while somewhat up enough for me to post this message, is still quite flickery and jumpy to be of any good WoW use. It frustrates me more when I have a scheduled raid tonight; and I don't want to hold up the raid because I don't have steady connection.

I called my providers earlier this day, and all that I got as a response was that they knew of the problem ((probably from my neighbors who are on the same plan as I am)) and that they would get it as soon as they possibly could.

It's been nearly 10 hours now.

GoB Promotion

Just wanted to let everyone know that as of yesterday, I am now part of the Vice GM's of the Gates of Babylon. I was promoted due to the work I contribute on the guild website, as well as for being a friendly, helpful member of the guild; both in game, and out.

If you are a member of the Argent Dawn realm, and would like to join up with our ranks, feel free to send me a note. I'm always willing to accept eager saps ... I mean, potential bodies into our gates. XD

Characters

Liénda - Human Priest ((Discipline / Shadow)) - lvl 80
Liénda is my main. She is who I play on most of the time, and I leveled her as a Holy Priest ((never again)). As of right now, she is Tailoring and Enchanting profession, and contains most if not all of the cooking recipes in the game. She is a member of the Gates of Babylon; a new raiding guild who just started working on Ulduar content. She is working on some of the old world reputations, as well as going for the Loremaster title.

Huléo - Dranai Paladin ((Retribution)) - lvl 42
Huléo is the toon I've been leveling the most recently. She's quick to level, and have been enjoying this class quite a bit. Right now, For the time being, she is Retribution, but once she hits lvl 40, she will duel spec into Holy / Ret so that she can start practicing with heals ((since that is the focus I want her to be in)).
She has no professions and is a member of the Gates of Babylon.

Fráya - Human Rogue ((Subtlety)) - lvl 18
Fráya is my alt's alt that I play. When I get tired of playing a caster of sorts, I play her. It could be due to the fact that I made it so easy for her to level. She contains some hair-loomed Shoulders, Chest piece, and two daggers that were both enchanted with +15 Agility each. She is my Alchemist and is a member of the Gates of Babylon.

Lilléo - Gnome Mage ((none)) - lvl 6
Simple fact, this is my bank alt. She is a mage, and out of boredom, I've started to level her some. She makes her home in the Iron Forge Auction House and bank ((as well as making a deep path between the two)). She is a member of the Mates of Babylon; a banking guild that I and a few of my friends share.

Cáta - Dranai Shaman ((Enhancement)) - lvl 21
Cáta was my first alt. She was made to try out one of the other types of characters out there other then a priest. My original plan was to level her as an Elemental, and then at level 40 send her 1,000 gold to purchase duel spec and make her a ((Restoration / Elemental)), but that changed when I found I don't care that much for Elemental. I have recently picked her up again and respected her to Enhancement, and I'm actually enjoying it. She is a member of the Gates of Babylon and is my Jewel Crafter.

Xúe - Night Elf Death Knight ((frost)) - lvl 58
This toon is actually my gathering toon. What is a gathering toon? Well, Xúe is a Herbalist and a Miner. All that she does is run through the lands of Azeroth ((and Outland when I start to level her some)) and gather herbs and minerals for my other toons to use. She is also a member of the Mates of Babylon so that I don't have to mail everything to my bank alt when she's done gathering for the day.

Xyánd - Wargen Hunter ((none)) - lvl 0
When WoW: Cataclysm comes out, this will be my next toon I will lvl. No other info at this time.

About Liénda

It may seem strange ((especially to me)), but I've only been playing WoW since February 2009. Because of this, I never got to experience some of what Vanilla WoW or TBC had in their original conception. Instead, I've been having to explore and visit all that those two had through guild events, and simply alot of soloing.

I play as Liénda, a human holy / Discipline priest on the RP Argent Dawn server. She was not my first character; my first was Xand, a human Frost Mage on the Aerie Peak server. He got up to about level 40 before I got tired of that server; and playing as a mage in general, that I decided to make a change.

Ever since I started Liénda, I haven't looked back at any other classes. I just love the aspect of healing people and keeping them alive in raids. Maybe it's just me totting my own horn, but it's us healers that keep the raid alive and going ((be it a pirest, shammy, pally, druid, etc.)).

The first and only guild Liénda has joined was the Gates of Babylon. It is run by a member named Walkertama, who ((if you ask anyone)) is great fun to pester with. XD Anyway, I was a low level, probably around level 13 or so, when I was running around Stormwind trying to finish up some of those quests when I stumbled past Walkertama. He helped me find my way to where I was going ((even though I knew where I was going, this is an RP realm, so I let him help me)) and he asked if I'd like to join his guild. I did, and since then, I have worked my way up the ranks to become a Vice GM now.

I am an achievement-aholic, as well as a mount and companion pet-aholics. You could say I'm just a WoW-aholic and be correct really. I spend most of my level 80 time now just gathering up old achievements, doing all I can to get as many of the patterns / recipes for my Tailoring / Enchanting as possible, gathering up all the reputation I need to get that one companion pet to put into my collection. I guess having a collecting nature helps great with that. I love collecting things, and this game sure does have quite abit of that.

Apart from that, I spend my time doing dailies and simply having fun with friends. One of the things about this game I like is that while I may not know the people personally ((as in what they look like, what their histories are, where they live)), I did make many good friends through this game. I don't see myself leaving it anytime soon, and even if I did, I'd still be in contact with these friends I've made through eMails and IMs.
